The new
Dutch River Swing Bridge
in Goole has earned East Riding of Yorkshire Council a
top award for civil engineering. The authority won the
award for excellence in civil engineering at the annual Institute
of Civil Engineers
awards ceremony.
The council
are very proud of the award and the bridge which has
been recognised by the institute with competition from
the very best nationally.
The judges
said “From conception, through planning, design,
engineering, construction and commissioning the scheme
demonstrates best practices in civil engineering.”
The £4.5m
bridge involved 200 tonnes of steel work to create a 60
meter crossing including a 40 meter swing bridge over the
fast flowing Dutch River.
Primary Fluid Power Ltd designed, manufactured,
installed and commissioned the Hydraulic & Electric
systems controls to operate the bridge, and are very proud to
be associated with this award.
