New Plating Specifications for KR In line with the Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) and European Directives (EU) the use of Hexavalent chrone within the process is being banned and instead a Trivalent plating process is to be adopted. The process to plate the vast majority of hydraulic fittings within the industry is Zinc plate conforming to CR6 standards. However after June 2006 the CR3 compliant process will be used by all manufactures replacing the Zinc plating that conforms to CR6. Primary Fluid Power Ltd. are meeting the requirements set out by the RoHS and the EU by producing the new CR3 standard, which according to reports offers a higher level of corrosion resistance over the old CR6.
